About IGA Youngtown

History

Our retail journey started back in the 1980’s with Ted and Fulvia French. After returning to his home state of Tasmania in the 1980s with his wife and two children, Ted, who was previously following a banking career in Sydney, and Fulvia, decided on a life change and bought a supermarket in Trevallyn. Ted and Fulvia managed this business, in a constantly changing and always challenging environment, for nearly two decades, before deciding to move on to another store.

Today

So in 2007, together with their son Michael, French’s Youngtown Supermarket was born. Ted and Fulvia have recently retired and handed the reins over to Michael and Sarah. Ten years after beginning at Youngtown, Michael and Sarah have decided it is time to take the shop online.
